The neighborhood of Kingsbury Forest is located to the southeast of downtown Springfield, Missouri. Kingsbury Forest is a small neighborhood consisting of fairly large contemporary two-story homes of various styles. Several of these homes are distinctive looking. There are many trees here and the front lawns are nicely landscaped. The Church of Christ – East Sunshine occupies the southwest corner of the neighborhood. U.S. Route 65 is just to the west.
Many of the schools nearby to Kingsbury Forest are either Catholic parochial schools or affiliated with other Christian denominations. They include Springfield Catholic High School and Gloria Deo Academy. Glendale High School is also close by.
Just a few miles to the northeast is the campus of Missouri State University. Incoming freshmen students attending MSU tend to have had higher ACT scores than state and national averages and tend to be in the top half of their high school graduating class. MSU sports teams have made 47 NCAA championship appearances in division I since 1983.
