Located on the eastern side of Springfield, Cinnamon Square is a development brimming with trees and situated in the middle of everything. The neighborhood consists mainly of single-family homes, with some town homes in the area as well. Among the surrounding communities are Cinnamon on the Hill, Kingsbury Forest, and Southern Hills.
The location of Cinnamon Square puts it in a good location for residents to get a quality public school education. At the elementary-school level, Hickory Hills, Wilder, and Pershing Elementary are the options, while middle schools include Hickory Hills and Pershing. High school children attend Glendale High. College-level students have Missouri State University only a few short miles away for pursuit of a degree.
Many interesting things to do are located near the Cinnamon Square neighborhood. There is the Discovery Center, which is a museum for hands on science study, or the Michael J. Clarke Museum. The Dickerson Park Zoo is very popular with neighborhood children, as is the Chesterfield Family Center, which has a pool and numerous inside activities for the family. Residents also enjoy visiting the Wheeler Botanical Gardens nearby.
Outdoor activities are available at Lake Springfield Park, which has a boathouse and marina, as well as at the Rutledge Wilson Farm Community Park. Founders Park is also popular, especially in winter due to the Mediacom Ice Park. There are several local golf courses, including Hickory Hills; Springfield; and Stewart, which in part is named for former PGA great Payne Stewart.
Shopping Centers close to Cinnamon Square are Southern Hills and the Plaza Shopping Center. Battlefield Mall is also nearby. All of these features are available to residents due to central location of their neighborhood, just off Interstate 44 and U.S. 65.
