Located on the eastern side of Springfield, Cinnamon Square is a development brimming with trees and situated in the middle of everything. Outdoor activities are available at Lake Springfield Park, which has a boathouse and marina, as well as at the Rutledge Wilson Farm Community Park. Founders Park is also popular, especially in winter due to the Mediacom Ice Park. There are several local golf courses, including Hickory Hills; Springfield; and Stewart, which in part is named for former PGA great Payne Stewart.

Shopping Centers close to Cinnamon Square are Southern Hills and the Plaza Shopping Center. Battlefield Mall is also nearby. All of these features are available to residents due to central location of their neighborhood, just off Interstate 44 and U.S. 65.
