Rolling Meadows is a neighborhood south of Kansas City, but still very close to the highway system. People who live in Rolling Meadows can get anywhere in the Greater Kansas City area easily, making it a great commuter neighborhood.

Rolling Meadows’ boundaries are East 79th Street to the north, Homes Road to the east, East 85th Street to the south, and Oak Street to the west.

Homes in Rolling Meadows were built in the 1970s and come in Ranch, split-level, and two story architectural styles. Wide streets, good schools, and an abundance of walkable sidewalks make Rolling Meadows a highly desirable place to live.

Both private and public golf courses are in close proximity to Rolling Meadows. For serious golfers, the Indian Hills Country Club offers its members a well-groomed golf course, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, swimming pools, and banquet facilities. A few minutes north is Swope Golf Course, a public course.

Many public parks and sports fields lie close to Rolling Meadows. South Oak Park is easily within walking distance, and offers a playground, picnic benches, and sports fields.

One of Kansas City’s best parks is Swope Park, located at Swope Parkway. Swope is almost 1800 acres, and although much of the land is undeveloped, it still offers a plenitude of features. Amenities at Swope include The Kansas City Zoo, Lakeside Nature Center, Starlight Outdoor Theatre, Kansas City Wizards training facility, a camp, community gardens, the Swope Pool, and several soccer, baseball, and multipurpose fields.

Rolling Meadows is also great place for sports fans. Not far from Rolling Meadows is Arrowhead Stadium, where the National Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs play their home games. Just across the parking lot sits Kauffman Park, home of the Kansas City Royals Major League Baseball club. Beginning in 2011, the Kansas City Wizards Major League Soccer team will be playing in its new stadium in the club’s quest for the cup.
