Comprised of single-family homes along Rollingwood West Drive and Rollingwood West Court, the Rollingwood neighborhood is situated on Columbia’s western side, approximately eight miles from the city center. The community is bordered by West Rollingwood Boulevard to the north, Interstate 70 to the south, North Maplewood Drive to the east and wide expanses of wooded land to the west.
The residences within the Rollingwood neighborhood are primarily single-story ranches, although a handful of two-story dwellings are also present. The vast majority of homes were constructed during the 1970s and are set atop spacious lots nestled into a backdrop of thick trees. Sidewalks line both sides of Rollingwood West Drive, providing plenty of space for residents to enjoy outdoor activities. The neighborhood is only accessible via the intersection of Rollingwood West Drive and West Rollingwood Boulevard, so it experiences minimal traffic.
The fifth-largest city in the state of Missouri, Columbia has a population of over 108,000 and is perhaps best known as the home of the University of Missouri. This top-tier public university—which has an enrollment upwards of 32,000 and boasts over 280 degree programs—is located less than 10 miles to the east of the Rollingwood neighborhood, along Interstate 70.
Residents will enjoy easy access to Columbia Mall, which features more than 100 specialty shops and is anchored by department stores such as Dillard’s, Barnes and Noble, JC Penney, and Target. The mall is also conveniently located along Interstate 70 and is a six-mile trip from Rollingwood. Outdoor enthusiasts will benefit from a quick commute to Finger Lakes State Park, which is within 18 miles of the neighborhood. It features ATV, motocross, and mountain biking trails, as well as opportunities for hiking, fishing, camping, and swimming.
