Lincoln University and the Missouri Valley College School of Nursing and Health Sciences are also nearby.

Some residents are members of the Columbia Country Club. The club is a few miles to the east and features a 6,436-yard, par-71 professional golf course. It also features a putting green, a driving range, an aquatic center with a 25-yard pool, an upscale clubhouse, and special event facilities. The Perche Creek Golf Club, the L.A. Nickell Golf Course, and the Country Club of Missouri also serve the golfing needs of the community.
