Fourth Ward Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Parks, golf courses, lakes, and shopping beckon visitors to experience Columbia’s Fourth Ward. The Fourth Ward stretches from West Broadway in the north to Chapel Hill Road in the south, and its eastern boundary bumps up against downtown Columbia and the University of Missouri.
The 225,000 square foot Forum Shopping Center opened its doors on 1400 Forum Boulevard in 1967. At the Fourth Ward’s premier shopping center residents can visit one of the more than 30 stores or catch a movie at the Forum 8 theaters.
Kiwanis Park’s green spaces invite visitors to take a break from Columbia’s city life. Basketball courts and a playground are available at the adjacent Russell Boulevard Elementary School, along with nearly a mile-long trail on the park’s 20 acres of wooded green space.
Inviting greens takes on a whole new meaning at the Fourth Ward’s A. L. Gustin Golf Course on 18 Stadium Boulevard. Opened in 1959, the 18-hole course, driving range, and putting greens are available to the public, but the course’s primary mission is to serve the University of Missouri community.
The blue waters of Hulen Lake, between Stadium Boulevard and South Fairview Road, are welcome to a number of water sports. Swimmers and kayakers can get wet while the fishermen sit back and try to reel in the lake’s many northern pike, bluegill, and sturgeon.
Fun indoors and out is on hand in central Missouri. Residents can shop at the Forum Shopping Center, golf the wooded fairways of A. L. Gustin Golf Course, and dangle their feet in the cool waters of Lake Hulen in Columbia’s Fourth Ward.
