Longer runs are best taken on the 4.7 mile ten feet wide MKT Trail. The MKT Trail starts Scott Boulevard and runs all the way to downtown Columbia, passing peaceful Hinkson Creek, beautiful Forum Nature Area, and Twin Lakes Recreation Area in the process.

Tee it up at the local Country Club of Missouri, which was founded in 1971, and is the only member-owned and managed club in the state. Its 18-hole golf course off of Forum Boulevard and Woodrail Avenue is complemented by tennis courts, a pool, and fine dining.

The Fifth Ward is sprinkled with other fine places to get a meal, including Kostackis Pizzeria, Jimmy John’s, and Papa Murphy’s.

In the southwestern portion of the “Show Me” state’s city of Columbia, the child friendly, and pet friendly Fifth Ward is a tribute to the beauty of nature.
