St Anthony Neighborhood in Saint Paul, MN

St Anthony Park Neighborhood

St. Anthony Park is a diverse neighborhood located in northwest Saint Paul, within Ramsey County and in the 55114 ZIP code area. Since the community is centrally located to all that the Twin Cities has to offer, there is no shortage of things to keep St. Anthony Park residents busy year round.

The community extends to Larpenteur Avenue on the north, Interstate 94 on the south, and Highway 280 on the west. Its western border is created by the University of Minnesota-Saint Paul campus and the state fairgrounds. Luther Seminary is also located in the neighborhood. St. Anthony Park residents also enjoy the Music in the Park Sunday Concert Series. Neighboring communities include Southeast Minneapolis, Falcon Heights, and Lauderdale.

St. Anthony Park was originally designed in the late 1800s to cater to the very wealthy with large estates. However, today there are a variety of housing options in the neighborhood, with something for every budget.

Schools in the neighborhood include St. Anthony Park Elementary School and Murray Junior High School. The neighborhood also features the historic St. Anthony Park Branch Library. This Carnegie library is one of the community’s gems, and a children’s wing was added in 1999.

Residents flock to nearby Langford Park for outdoor recreation and fun. This park, spanning more than 9.5 acres, offers tennis and basketball courts as well as soccer and baseball fields. An on-site recreation center offers hockey. During the winter months, two outdoor fields are flooded to create hockey and skating rinks. Golf fans can take advantage of the University of Minnesota Golf Course, located just on the other side of the neighborhood’s northern boundary.

The community also claims several churches, shops, and eateries. Thanks in part to the nearby college campus, there is plenty to see, do, and eat within walking distance of St. Anthony Park.
