John Marshall is located in the northeast area of Rochester, Minnesota. This neighborhood is bordered by U.S. Route 52, U.S. Route 14, and U.S. Route 63. John Marshall is surrounded by several parks and shopping centers.

One of the largest parks near John Marshall is Cascade Lake Park, named for the bordering lake. Cascade Lake Park has several amenities to offer its residents. This park has hiking trails, biking trails, picnic pavilions, and softball fields. Cascade Lake is a small lake compared Minnesota’s thousands of lakes, but it does provide its guests with a small beach and great fishing.

Another park that is a bit smaller than Cascade lake Park is Indian Heights Park. This park is located on the banks of the Zumbro River. Indian Heights Park has a nice walking path that winds along the river, picnic areas, and playground equipment for the younger kids in the neighborhood.

Other parks in the area include Goose Egg Park, Cook Park, Kutzky Park, and Zumbro West Park. All of these parks may be small, but they still provide residents and guests with a relaxing atmosphere and a chance to get some exercise.

Miracle Mile Shopping Center is about ten minutes south of John Marshall and offers a good variety of stores to satisfy any resident’s shopping needs. Three major department stores are in the mall: Macy’s, JC Penny, and Sears. Along with the larger box stores, residents will find smaller boutique shops and chain stores.
