Rochester, MN Apartments for Rent

Rochester would be the best place to rent an apartment if you are all about the outdoors! The city’s nickname is “Med City” because it is the home of Mayo Clinic. Did you know Rochester is one of only four counties in Minnesota that do not have a natural lake?  They’re  artificial. Yet, the real essence about this thriving city is its great efforts to maintain healthy lifestyles. Living here, you’re sure to hop on the healthy train.

There are a multitude of attractions in Rochester. Mayo Clinic is itself a storied attraction, offering tours and a look behind the scenes of one of the world’s premier healthcare facilities. The proximity of being close to the five-story Mayowood Mansion is a privilege to visit regularly. This historic home of three generations within the Mayo family has 100 rooms located in a beautiful rural, wooded setting just outside of downtown Rochester. With its convenient location along the South Fork of the Zumbro River, this area is a nature lover’s dream come true. Hiking trails in state parks, cross-country skiing at the Quarry Hill Nature Center, and ice skating at the local outdoor rink make an apartment for rent in Rochester an ideal place to call home. The Quarry Hill Nature Center encompasses five miles of trails covering 270 acres, ideal for cyclists.

Things to Do in Rochester:

If you want to be in a city where being active is a passion for most citizens, getting a Rochester apartment is your best bet. This is the best town where you can find any level of players playing volleyball during open gym time at the National Volleyball Center. For a $4 entrance fee, you can get a fun volleyball exercise.

When you finally hit the city, take a walk around Rochester’s downtown. You cannot miss the high-rise that pokes through the atmosphere. Lower floors of this structure are apartments, so when looking for the right pad, Rochester has ample amounts of luxurious choices.

Visit thousands of Canadian geese at Silver Lake. The best thing about Silver Lake is the geese food bins at the parking lot. Visitors can purchase cups of corn for 75 cents! They waddle right up to you and eat from your hand! Who wants to go shopping when you can be so close to these lovely birds?

Silver Lake has a power plant which is adjacent to the lake that supplies enough heat for the lake to never freeze during the winter. Therefore, it has become a warm haven for the thousands of Canadian Geese that flock in this direction every year. It is an amazing site to behold when the entire lake and surrounding land are covered with the geese.

In the summer months, the lake is a great place to hang out or exercise. The Rochesterfest celebration provides for some entertainment opportunities in the area, like the lumberjack shows and an occasional water ski demonstration. There is a children’s playground next to the lake and across the street is the Silver Lake Public Pool.

The Silver Lake Park is a great place to take kids who need to burn off some energy. The park has an awesome jungle gym connected by bridges and slides. For smaller kids there is a huge sandbox area with a large train to climb on. There are plenty of places for parents to sit and relax. After leaving your Rochester apartment, have lunch at the park and spend several hours enjoying the sunshine.

Newt’s is a fixture for burgers & beer since 1980; this laid-back restaurant boasts a full bar & kids menu. When looking for something delicious and fulfilling, Newt’s would be a place to consider. Chester’s kitchen and bar is another recommended place in this city.
