The Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station was built in 1941 and is home to the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. The station is located in Havelock, North Carolina and is surrounded by the Croatan National Forest on three sides. Cherry Point is the world’s largest Marine Corps Air Station.

Havelock is a beautiful coastal community named for Sir Henry Havelock, a British officer who recaptured Cawnpore from the rebels during the Indian Rebellion of 1857.
