Located on 5,804 acres in the Florida panhandle, Naval Air Station Pensacola has the distinction of being the first Naval Air Station commissioned by the Navy in 1914. NAS Pensacola alumni include some of the nation’s most famous aviators, including John Glen and Neil Armstrong. This is the primary training base for all Naval, Marine, and Coast Guard aviators. It is also home to the Blue Angels, a flight demonstration squadron that was formed in 1946.
NAS Pensacola is located along the Pensacola Bay in southwest Pensacola. This sea port city is just east of the Alabama-Florida line.
