It is situated roughly 13 miles – 20 minutes – from the downtown area and roughly two miles south of where Interstates 71 and 265 intersect. The Owl Creek Country Club golf courses are another option, situated about two miles east of the Rolling Hills neighborhood.

For nearby shopping, Rolling Hills residents head a few miles southwest to the intersection of U.S. Highway 60 and I-264. At least two major shopping centers can be found there, the St. Matthews Mall and the Oxmoor Center.

Higher-education options within a few miles south of Rolling Hills include the Kentucky Military Institute and the Isaac Shelby Campus of the University of Louisville.
