Richlawn is a neighborhood east of Louisville, Kentucky, within Jefferson County. The larger city of St. Matthews surrounds this small community. Richlawn encompasses the 40207 zip code and is bounded by the railroad tracks on the north, Shelbyville Road on the south, Gibson Road on the west, and McArthur Drive on the east.

Richlawn was incorporated in 1948, two years before St. Matthews. The area was designed by Emery Kinkead, a prominent builder of the time. The first homes here were built in the 1940s on the Don Allen block (now known as the Homerama display), and many were designed by prominent architects rather than builders. To this day, the single-family homes that make up this primarily residential community are highly desirable.

The city of Richlawn is convenient to many area attractions. For local shopping, residents are less than a mile northwest of two prominent area shopping centers – the St. Matthews Mall and the Oxmoor Center, which flank either side of nearby I-24.

For local health care, Richlawn residents are situated directly north of Baptist Hospital-East, and also Norton Suburban Hospital, which are located on either side of I-64.

The residents of Richlawn who enjoy the benefits of a country club belong to the Big Spring Country Club, also located to the south and situated just west of the medical centers. This prestigious private club has served the area for over 80 years. In addition to 18 holes of championship golf, Big Spring also offers tennis courts, fitness facilities, and a gorgeous clubhouse with several dining options.
