Keeneland is a subdivision located northeast of downtown Louisville in the zip code 40223. Keeneland was dissolved in 2001 and annexed by the neighboring City of Lyndon, but it is still considered to be a neighborhood of Louisville, as well as of Lyndon.

Just 0.1 square miles in area, Keeneland is a rectangular shape. Its north border is an imaginary east-west line cutting through the south portion of Hounz Lane County Park; the eastern border is North Hurstbourne Parkway; the south border is Whipps Mill Road; and the western border is another imaginary line this time extending from the backyard borders of homes on Keeneland Boulevard to the bottom of Hounz Lane County Park.

Streets in the subdivision were named after horse racing terms, such as the Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Futurity Way, and Ben Ali Road. Homes are of the red brick ranch style built in the late 1950s and include garages, driveways, grassy lawns, mature trees and sidewalks.

Shopping, dining, services and employment may be found on the nearby main thoroughfares such as North Hurstbourne Parkway, LaGrange Road and Westport Road. I-265 is easily accessible by the on/off ramp at Westport Road. A Kroger grocery store is located at 9501 Westport Road. One Corporate Center, 9931 Hurstbourne Parkway is an office complex with restaurants and hotels. Central State Hospital is located at 10510 Lagrange Road.

Parks include Hounz Lane County Park, E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park to the east, and Robinson Park in Lyndon. Schools are in the Jefferson County Public School District and include Bowen Elementary, Westport Traditional Mid & Fine Arts Academy, and Waggener Traditional High School.
