The subdivision is part of the St. Matthews area and is in close access to I-64, which is situated to the south of the community. Broad Fields is close to shopping and dining, including the St. Matthews Mall, which is distinguished as being Louisville’s first enclosed shopping center. The mall, a favorite of residents, features over 130 shops, including such specialty stores as Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma, Brooks Brothers, Ann Taylor Loft and Brookstone. Dillard’s and J.C. Penney serve as anchor stores. Visitors to the popular shopping center can relax and dine at one of the mall’s restaurants, including Cinnabon, Panera Bread, Starbucks or the Cheesecake Factory.

Besides shopping and dining, neighborhood residents are a short drive away from the Jefferson Memorial Forest, which is approximately fifteen miles from the center of town. The forest is made up of over 6,000 acres of scenic beauty and is a habitat for a variety of wildlife including birds like the whip-poor-will, gray catbird, sparrow, vermillion flycatcher, yellow warbler and red-breasted nuthatch.

Close to the interstate, yet in a peaceful, pleasant location, the Broad Fields community is one of the more desirable neighborhoods in the city of Louisville.
