Ten minutes east of downtown Des Moines Iowa, Pleasant Hill is a small, friendly city. Located near Iowa 63 and Highway 65, residents can reach Des Moines in minutes. Pleasant Hill is only a mile from the Iowa State Fairgrounds. The 2010 Iowa State Fair is themed “Non-Stop Fun” and will feature rides, exhibits, food, and more. Pleasant Hill provides access to Altoona via the Four Mile Creek Greenway Trail. Doanes Park is Pleasant Hill’s oldest and covers 43 acres.
The Pleasant Hill Library offers an online catalog, Spanish, craft time, and story time. White Water University Water Park is a must on summer days. Other recreation includes a sports park and two 18-hole golf courses.
