Clive Apartments for Rent(show city information)
Clive, Iowa began as a coal mining town and a Midwest railroad shipping point. The Clive Historical Society renewed the Train Depot from 1882 and the Swanson House from 1911 to keep Clive’s past in the present.
Incorporated in 1956, Clive is a fairly young city, located at the crossroads of I-35 and I-80. It is conveniently located on the west side of Des Moines, giving Clive residents quick access to the Iowa State Fairgrounds, Drake University, Grand View College, and Des Moines International Airport.
Clive Aquatic Park has a leisure pool, lazy river, lap pool, and swimming lessons. Clive Public Library offers many events to citizens, including Toddler Time and Pajama Night. The Parks and Recreation Department has programs for all ages, including softball, dodge ball, and sand volleyball. Enjoy roller blading, soccer, play areas, picnic shelters, and mini golf in one of Clive’s many parks. The Greenbelt Trail takes you on an 11.3-mile nature walk with handy points of access.
Commercial areas include shopping plazas and restaurants, many along busy 86th Street in the heart of Clive. The slogan for this picturesque city is “Distinct by Nature” — a fitting tribute to the growth and development of Clive.
