Located on the eastern banks of the Wabash River, the city of Terre Haute – the unofficial capital of the Wabash Valley and the county seat of Vigo County – offers a charming Midwestern setting. When you rent a Terre Haute apartment, you’ll enjoy a small-town atmosphere and plenty to do.

The ISU Memorial Stadium is home to a unique trail featuring the 101 Trees of Indiana, a natural exhibit of trees and shrubs native to the state. The Clabber Girl Museum and Country Store, located downtown, features an early American kitchen, cooking demonstrations, an antique Indy 500 Race Car, and a 19th century street scene. The 500 Museum of Wheels features all things automobile, from race cars to passenger cars.

Collett Park, the oldest park in Terre Haute, is located in a historic neighborhood at 7th Street and Maple Avenue. Dating to 1883, the park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The park features horseshoe pits, shuffleboard, a playground, and ball fields. A paved walking trail winds through the picturesque park.

Beautiful Dobbs Memorial Park includes a pond, three miles of trails, wetlands, pine woods, forests, a butterfly garden, shelters, and a restored prairie. A nature center and the Native American Museum are also located in the park.

With a traditional small-town sense of community, Terre Haute is home to some great family-friendly events that include live music, games, and more. The Wabash Valley Fairgrounds offers year-round fun, ranging from truck and tractor pulls to monster trucks to performances by music groups and conservatories. The annual Vigo County Fair is a week-long summer event that includes events, rides, food vendors, shows, and exhibits.
