As the county seat of Tippecanoe County, Lafayette has a lot going for it – great location, government offices, an exciting downtown, a variety of festivals, and across the Wabash River in West Lafayette, the top-ranked Purdue University. Add in major businesses such as Caterpillar, Alcoa, and Wabash National and combine it with great parks, museums, restaurants, and shopping and it is easy to see why many are choosing to rent apartments in Lafayette.

Established in 1869, Purdue University is the second largest university in Indiana. It has a strong aviation program, including spaceflight, and has graduated 22 future astronauts, including Neil Armstrong. The Purdue Boilermakers football team is a founding member of the Big Ten Conference and its rivals include Notre Dame and the Indiana Hoosiers, giving local college football fans a big reason to get out to the Ross-Ade Stadium on game day.

Lafayette isn’t just a college town, however. In addition to its stable economy and healthy job market, Lafayette is home to several museums, restaurants, and the Columbian Park Zoo (a local favorite with residents, the zoo features a beautiful butterfly garden and a family farm exhibit).

Downtown Lafayette is where the action is – art galleries, festivals, theaters, shops, restaurants, nightlife, and great festivals. Year-round, you’ll always have something to do when you rent in Lafayette. The downtown is filled with live music, art walks, an annual Polar Bear Skate (go ice skating in your bathing suit!), trolley tours, theater performances, and a downtown farmers market.
