Tepe Park is a large older neighborhood in Evansville, Indiana. The neighborhood is just west of Route 41 and north of Interstate 164. Tepe Park is a little over one mile from the Indiana/Kentucky border near the Ohio River. The area attracts many students at the University of Evansville, which is only one mile to the northeast.
Bordered by Washington Avenue on the north and East Riverside Drive on the south, Tepe Park includes a mix of residential properties and small businesses. South Kentucky Avenue creates the eastern boundary, and South Garvin Street borders the area to the west. Many smaller streets intersect the community, including Adams Avenue, Jefferson Avenue, and Monroe Avenue.
Sidewalks are available along the main roads, and Tepe Park itself is between Monroe Avenue and Madison Avenue on the western side of the neighborhood. Tepe Park is undergoing renovations that will include a ball field and water play area. The Evansville-Vanderburgh Library is four blocks north of Washington Avenue.
Homes in the area were built mostly in the 1930s and 1940s, and mature shade trees are common throughout the neighborhood. Residents can find additional recreational opportunities to the east at Akin Park. The Covert and Lodge Shopping Center is also just east of Route 41, outside the community.
With the location so close to the Ohio River, residents can enjoy parks and river activities a few minutes from home.
