Lorraine Park neighborhood is a family-centered residential community based around Lorraine Park in eastern Evansville. Rectangular in shape, the neighborhood of Lorraine Park is bordered by Washington Avenue to the north, South Boeke Road to the east, Covert Avenue to the south, and South Weinbach Avenue to the west.

Lorraine Park is located in the northeastern section of the neighborhood. The park offers something for all ages including a playground, shaded picnic areas, and a large swimming pool.

Residents of Lorraine Park enjoy tree-lined streets, large lawns, and some sidewalks for walking and biking. Most homes in the area were built in the mid-1900s, most notably the 1950s. Many homes have driveways and garages, but the neighborhood still takes advantage of on-street parking. Homes vary in size and design.

Children in Lorraine Park attend Harper or Dexter Elementary Schools, Washington Middle School, and Bosse High School.

Shopping is located nearby at the Covert and Vann Shopping Center. Washington Square Mall is just a few blocks farther. An older mall built in the 1960s, Washington Square features small, local businesses as well as one or two major corporate retailers.

St. Mary’s Medical Center is a short drive from the neighborhood. St. Mary’s is a large, acute-care hospital which provides cardiac, surgical, mental health services, oncology, and emergency services. There is also a separate hospital for women and children, which is attached to the main hospital. Because of its proximity to the hospital, Lorraine Park is a desirable neighborhood for employees of the hospital.
