Hoosier Cullen Apartments for Rent
The tiny Hoosier/Cullen neighborhood of Evansville, Indiana is one half mile in length and is situated in the southeastern section of the city. Bounded in the north by Bellmeade Avenue, on the west by Ene Avenue, to the south by Washington Avenue, and on the east by South Cullen Avenue, Hoosier/Cullen sits in the 47715 zip code area.
Nestled between Lawndale Shopping Center and the Rolling Green neighborhood, the eastern side of Hoosier/Cullen is made up of mostly single family homes. However, on its western side, it hosts a large apartment complex adjacent to the shopping center. There are several shopping options for residents in the neighborhood: Washington Square Mall sits adjacent to Lawndale Shopping Center in walking distance on the south side, while Village Commons Shopping Center and Eastland Mall are just a mile away on the other side of the East Lloyd Expressway.
Also within walking distance from Hoosier/Cullen is Showplace Cinemas Movie Theater (across from Lawndale Shopping Center), and the Evansville Vanderburgh library, which is situated between Lawndale Shopping Center and Washington Square Mall. Hoosier/Cullen’s suburban design limits vehicular access, so it is almost like a private neighborhood, particularly on the western (apartment) side, because it can only be accessed via its north and south borders.
The Hoosier/Cullen neighborhood is close to Vann Park, Lorraine Park, the Wesselman Park Nature Center and Angel Mounds State Memorial, a former Native American settlement dating back to 1100 A.D.
Residents of Hoosier/Cullen have access to plenty of options for a variety of shopping, dining and entertainment venues within walking or biking distance, and because of its close distance to the East Lloyd Expressway, the neighborhood is convenient to Downtown Evansville.
