Guide to Evansville

Evansville Apartments For Rent

Evansville is a place that brings the best of both worlds together. It is the third-largest city in Indiana, but it still has a small-town feel. Wrapped around a deep bend in the Ohio River, Evansville’s charms begin at the beautiful downtown riverfront and extend upward into this large Indiana city. The downtown is a charming collection of antique stores, gift shops, boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, and bars along a cobblestone Main Street.

Fun is easy to find in Evansville. From the Casino Aztar to Mesker Park Zoo, there’s something for everyone. Evansville is an award-winning city with a healthy economy, home to corporations such as Mead Johnson, Atlas Van Lines, Toyota, and Shoe Carnival.

Things to Do in Evansville:

GattiTown Evansville Pizza and Family Entertainment Center is a great place to go when you want something to do with the family. It’s the perfect blend of cheesy pizza and fun games – inexpensive fun for the entire family! Did I mention they have bumper cars? Funtastic!

The Mesker Park Zoo and Botanical Garden should be a priority when you move to your new apartment in Evansville. The zoo has a beautiful enchanted forest, discovery center, and a heap of greenery habitats from the South American rainforest. The Mesker Park Zoo is a 50-acre park and botanic garden with more than 700 animals.

Walther’s Golf & Fun will give you entertainment for the entire family. They have wonderful attractions such as indoor and outdoor mini golf, laser tag, an indoor play area for the younger sprouts, and an arcade! Golfers will appreciate the four municipal golf courses in Evansville, as well.

The Evansville Civic Center hosts many arts and theatrical events throughout the year. The Evansville Civic Center is a non-profit organization that features local actors and actresses, and it is a great place to enjoy the fine arts.

Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve is a National Natural Landmark with over six miles of walking trails. Festivals and events in Evansville include the Freedom Festival, the Hoosier Nationals BMX Race, a German heritage festival, and the West Side Nut Club Festival – a wildly popular week-long festival that began in 1924.

The Children’s Museum of Evansville has a surplus of activities. There is just so much for kids to do there. Younger kids may love broadcasting the news or putting on a theatre production. This place is highly recommended for kids and adults to learn and grow together. There is also a Mark Twain statue that you just cannot miss. The statue recites whatever you want him to say or some of the prerecorded quotes Mark Twain really stated. How cool is that?

The Ruby Moon Vineyard and Winery is fairly new to Evansville. There is a banquet room that can be rented for weddings and private events. This facility is by far something you don’t want to miss. Of course, the vineyard and the Tuscan-inspired tasting room are definitely worth a visit.

If you are in love with acting and improv, then the D’alto Studio is where you need to be. They have so much going on there, from sketching to acting!

Go to the library! Evansville doesn’t just have any library – it is home to the Willard Library. You’ll know it when you see it – just look for the complicated peaks and curves of this Victorian Gothic structure. The historic library is well over 100 years old – and reportedly haunted!

Snicker Doodles Art on West Franklin Street is a great location for the entire family. It began with a stay-at-home mom who started making a few little projects for friends and then a business sprouted. Painters can choose from a wide variety of subject matter: whales, frogs, butterflies, insects, elephants, etc.

What to Consider When Moving to Evansville:

Sports! The Evansville Icemen is a minor league team in the ECHL that was established in 2010. You’ll have fun cheering them on – they have a great record! The team also holds special events for the community, such as the recently-held “Education Day Jersey Design Contest.”

Evansville is an award-winning city that enjoys a healthy economy with corporations such as Mead Johnson, Atlas Van Lines, Toyota, and Shoe Carnival all headquartered here.

Why Evansville Apartments Are Hot:

Wow! This city is the place to be! When it comes to sizzling events, you’ll find plenty of them after choosing an Evansville apartment!  The Fun in the City Art Festivals feature artists from throughout the region. You never know who the next star may be!

At the Victory Theater, you can attend a Disney Live in Concert show, or you can choose a more grown-up outing such as stand-up comedian Chris Tucker, enjoy a performance by the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, and other special events.

The IASF’S Walk for Autism is an annual event that raises awareness and support for autism. This is an annual 5K run/walk, usually held at Burdette Park. This event is just one of many that you’ll find in Evansville. Apartments in Evansville are hot because this is a city that blends a caring community with big-city fun.
