Des Plaines, IL Apartments for Rent

Renting an apartment in Des Plaines? It could be destiny – this is, after all, the “City of Destiny.” Des Plaines is a northwestern suburb of Chicago, located along the Des Plaines River. It is a beautiful, green community that includes part of the Des Plaines Forest Preserve, a vast 66,747-acre area with 52 miles of bicycle trails, 200 miles of hiking/horseback riding trails, six nature centers, 10 golf courses, and special areas dedicated to sledding, boating, fishing, and swiming.

Even though Des Plaines is a Chicago suburb, it has a terrific small-town vibe and an extensive parks system. The Des Plaines Park District includes three swimming pools, 73 acres of fishing areas, bike trails, 37 parks, an 18-hole golf course, a mini golf course, and a theater. Activities include boating, ice skating, fishing, picnicking, and golfing. The Mystic Waters Aquatic Center is also part of the parks system. This center includes a leisure pool, drop slides, and water slides.

While Chicago’s amazing restaurants, shops, museums, and theaters are a short distance from Des Plaines, this terrific city has plenty to offer closer to your new Des Plaines apartment – including the Rivers Casino, Oakton Community College, the McDonald’s Museum, and the Des Plaines Theater. O’Hare International Airport is just south of the city.
