Carey Park is named after the neighborhood park that it surrounds. It’s a small community in the greater Atlanta area in Fulton County. The Carey Park neighborhood is about five miles east of many of the cultural attractions Atlanta offers, making for an easy drive to almost any type of restaurant, club, theater, or museum you can imagine.

The neighborhood is a mix of single-family, detached homes, apartment complexes, and mobile home parks. It is a particularly popular place for families, with the park offering many outdoor activities and cultural excursions being only minutes away.

Carey Park is known for the excellent area schools. A.D. Williams Elementary School is located in the neighborhood. Nearby schools include Sesame Seed Preschool, Carey School, Scott Elementary School, Usher Elementary School, Herrington Day School, Blalock Elementary School, Harper-Archer Middle School, and Berean Christian Junior Academy.

The educational opportunities in the Carey Park neighborhood of Atlanta only begin in the classroom. The High Museum of Art, the World of Coca-Cola, the Margaret Mitchell House and Museum, Wren’s Nest House Museum, and Imagine It! The Children’s Museum of Atlanta, are all approximately five miles east of the Carey Park neighborhood.

Wealthier residents of the Carey Park community frequent one of three popular country clubs: Open Golf Atlanta, Cherokee Town and Country Club, and Druid Hills Country Club. Although there are no courses in the immediate neighborhood, the short drive doesn’t bother most.

Many popular restaurants serve residents of the Carey Park area along Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway Northwest. Among the most frequented restaurants are Happy Wings, Soule Restaurant Bar & Grill, Checkers Drive-In Restaurant, Lucky Panda, and Boston Fish Supreme.

The Hollywood Plaza Shopping Center is a little over a mile north of the Carey Park neighborhood, and it offers dozens of shops and restaurants, including McDonald’s, Charlie Chan, Donut King, Subway, Target, Everblue, EB Games, GoLo, and Cheap as Chips.
