Whispering Oaks is a residential community surrounded by some of the busiest roads in the Tampa area. These roads provide excellent access to some of the best venues in the region. Whispering Oaks is surrounded by Linebaugh Avenue to the north, Waters Avenue to the south, Dale Mabry Highway to the east, and Anderson Road to the west. Also, just past Anderson Road is one of the most vital transportation routes in the area, the Veteran’s Expressway.

Area residents should have absolutely no problem finding a way to entertain themselves in the Whispering Oaks area. For many, entertainment is as simple as crossing Anderson Road to visit one of the busiest areas for eating near Whispering Oaks.

Just off Anderson Road is a large complex that is home to some of the best chain restaurants in the area. These restaurants include Cold Stone Creamery, Vallartas Mexican Restaurant, Green Iguana Bar and Grill, Boston’s, Logan’s Roadhouse, and even a Starbucks. This is a popular area to not only grab a bite but to grab a beer while watching sports. Located in the center of the plaza is AMC Theater, which is a popular destination for families and teenagers.

For the more serious sports fans, a five-mile drive south on Dale Mabry Highway brings you to one of the best sports destinations in the area. For professional baseball, there is George M Steinbrenner Field, the sports training home of the New York Yankees, a major rival of the local favorite Tampa Bay Rays. Even with the rivalry, Steinbrenner Field is a popular venue for many area residents to visit.

Across the street from Steinbrenner Field is Raymond James Stadium. This stadium is host to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers professional football team. The stadium is also a popular venue for major concerts and events.
