Sarasota, FL Apartments for Rent

Strolling through a pastel-painted and palm-tree-filled downtown, paddle-boarding and snorkeling the Point of Rocks at Crescent Beach, watching the sea turtles at Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium, or just sitting on white-sugar sand and watching one spectacular sunset over the Gulf of Mexico after another … this is what you’ll get if you rent an apartment in Sarasota!

If it sounds like paradise, well, it’s pretty close. Located along Florida’s Gulf Coast about an hour south of Tampa Bay, Sarasota has old-world charm, natural and cultural beauty, and amazing beaches. With its ideal location, spectacular views, and endless activities, you can always find something to do in Sarasota – even if it is just wiggling your toes into the cool, ultra-fine sand!

First, about those beaches: Siesta Beach is one of the best beaches in the nation. It was named the best beach in the nation by Dr. Beach in 2011. The beach has also been recognized by National Geographic Traveler and by Trip Advisor Travelers, which named Siesta Beach the number one beach in 2015.

Outdoor activities revolve around the water: boating, sailing, swimming, fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, beachcombing, and paddle-boarding. But there’s more to Sarasota than the sand between your toes!

If live performances are your cup of tea, there’s no better place than downtown Sarasota. Catch a show at the Sarasota Opera, Player Theatre, Golden Apple Theatre, Florida Studio Theater, or the Asolo Performing Arts Center. The Sarasota Film Festival is a fantastic annual event that screens about 180 films.

The Ringling Museum of Art is a must after you’ve chosen your apartment to rent in Sarasota. This is the State Art Museum of Florida, and it houses one of the best art collections in the country. John Ringling (one of the five brothers who started the “Greatest Show on Earth”) spent his winters in Sarasota – he purchased so much property that he once owned more than 25 percent of the city. He traveled extensively and collected a variety of art along the way. Needing a place to put all of his beloved works of art, he built a 21-gallery museum, and in 1931, he opened it to the public. When he died, he gave the museum to Florida.

Baseball fans will appreciate Ed Smith Stadium – this is where the Baltimore Orioles hold Spring Training. The stadium holds 8,500 and includes two courtyards with food stands, a café, and a gift shop. Satisfy your inner clown at the Circus Arts Conservatory, where you can catch a performance or even attend a workshop. The Circus Summer Camp, for children ages 6-15, includes low wire, flying trapeze, juggling, and more.

After selecting your new apartment in Sarasota, you’ll be able to shop at the Sarasota Farmers Market, enjoy award-winning restaurants, and catch amazing events such as the Siesta Key Crystal Classic, a sand-sculpting event that attracts the best sand sculptors from around the world.
