Red Oak Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The block-long Red Oak neighborhood is located on the northern edge of Pensacola, one block south of West 10 Mile Road. Calderwood Court is the neighborhood’s only roadway in and out. This quiet street, lined with sizeable homes on long, thin quarter-acre lots, makes up the entire neighborhood. About 24 homes, most built between 2000 and 2003, offer spacious front and back yards. A row of trees encircles the entire neighborhood, providing a sound barrier from busy Cove Avenue, the connecting road, and a sense of privacy.
Red Oak is convenient to the University of West Florida, located roughly four miles east. The sprawling campus offers degrees in several subjects and has a large percentage of students that are either in the military or veterans. Pensacloa is home to Elgin Air Force Base, one of the largest military posts in the country. Next to the university and stretching several miles to the north is the Escambia River Wildlife Management Area. The area is largely undeveloped, but hunting and fishing are allowed in season. Becks Lake is one of the more well-known fishing holes in the park.
Closer to home, Pine Meadow Elementary School lies within walking distance. Secondary schools such as J. M. Tate Senior High and the private Escambia Westgate Center are a bit farther away. The closest houses of worship are Northside Apostolic Church, Church of Christ Pensacola, and Pinehaven Missionary Baptist. Lowe’s Shopping Center is about a half mile south of Red Oak. Ashton Broshnaham Park, a 17-acre facility used by the Pensacola Futbol Club, is a few blocks east. The club offers organized soccer play for adults and children.
