Melrose Park Apartments for Rent
Although it is technically designated as a Pensacola neighborhood, Melrose Park is entirely occupied by a single school, the Pensacola Christian Academy. Before building its campus there in the mid 1990s, the land was used by an informal community of residents; today, no residents live within the official borders of Melrose Park.
Nevertheless, many older Pensacola natives still refer to the area surrounding the school as Melrose Park, even though no homes actually exist within the strict borders of the neighborhood. Due to this, many mistakenly refer to the adjacent Twelve Oaks neighborhood as being part of Melrose Park.
Regardless of the actual borders, Melrose Park lies situated in the greater Brent community, in northern central Pensacola, just under a mile from I-110 halfway between downtown and I-10.
Shopping near Melrose Park is excellent, with storefronts lining both Brent Lane and North Palafox Street, the neighborhood’s official bordering streets. Barnes Shopping Center lies within walking distance just across the street.
With a name like Melrose Park, it makes sense that the area itself is indeed quite park-like. The grounds are only loosely open to the public, and are instead used mainly for students of the Pensacola Christian Academy. The nearest park local residents can use freely is Oak Park, less than a mile to the south, just at the edge of walking distance from Melrose Park.
