La Mirage Apartments for Rent

Located only one-half mile from the shores of Escambia Bay, the community of La Mirage offers a community of single-family homes on streets that honor Pensacola’s Spanish heritage. La Mirage is the community’s main roadway, running the two-block length of the neighborhood. Branching off are El Presideo, Costa Mesa and Chula Vista. Lots are large, averaging over one-quarter acre, and sporting a mixture of single- and two-story homes. Almost all homes have pools behind the lush lawns and mature shade trees. The community is compact, quiet, and pedestrian-friendly.

On the northeast corner is Woodcliff Park, featuring a basketball court, playground and more than three acres of open space. The Scenic Heights Elementary School is a three-block walk. Across from this school is the six-acre Belvedere Park, with another basketball court, two colorful playgrounds and a large number of trees. The largest of the three parks is Hitzman-Optimist Park, which offers 16 acres of athletic fields, picnic shelters and playgrounds, one designed to look like a fort.

The La Mirage roadway connects with Spanish Trail, which follows part of the original route used when Pensacola was under the Spanish flag. Heading south on this roadway leads past Lavellet Park, which includes five acres of trees, pathways, and playgrounds that are only one block from the beach. To the north is Chimney Park, which includes the remains of an old mill destroyed during the Civil War, now a registered historic site.

West of Lavallet Park on the Spanish Trail is the Pensacola Regional Airport. Adjacent to the airport is Roger Scott Athletic Complex, which has an off-leash dog park. Across from the airport are Pensacola State College, Washington High School and Cordova Mall. A smaller mall, Cordova Collections, lies one block from the larger shopping center.
