Beach Haven is on the west side of Pensacola in Escambia County. The community is north of Bayou Grande, off Gulf Beach Highway between Mills Avenue and Decatur Avenue. Central Pensacola is 15 minutes away by car, and Perdido Key is 25 minutes away.
The neighborhood features tree-lined streets leading up to the water’s edge. Small, sandy strips of beach create opportunities for boat access or simply relaxing at the water’s edge. Shopping and amenities are available nearby along Gulf Beach Highway, and the Tarklin Bayou Preserve State Park, with its hiking trails and picnic areas, is not far away.
Public education is provided by the Escambia County School District. The closest schools are Navy Point Elementary, a public school serving pre-K through 5th grade; the E. Seal Center, which offers special education for high school students; and Judy Andrews, an alternative high school. Colleges and universities in the surrounding area include Pensacola Junior College, Virginia College and Pensacola State College.
Religious services in the vicinity can be found at the Prophetic Enrichment Center, Warrington Assembly of God, Beach Haven Baptist Church, Jehovah’s Witnesses Warrington, and Cross and Crown Baptist Church. The closest library is the Westside Branch Library on Cervantes Street.
Residents will find plenty of activities and entertainment in the surrounding area. Every year the Pensacola Fairgrounds hosts the Pensacola Interstate Fair, drawing educational, livestock, cultural, and technological exhibits from across Florida as well as surrounding states. In addition, the fair has a traditional midway, with rides, games, and plenty of fried food.
Points of interest around Beach Haven include the Pensacola Naval Complex, Pensacola Country Club and Golf Course, Saenger Theatre, and Big Lagoon State Park, where visitors can fish, swim, boat and snorkel.
