The neighborhood of Stonemeade is located to the northeast of downtown Orlando, Fla. Stonemeade consists of contemporary medium to fairly large one- and two-story homes on winding roads. Several small lakes are in the northeastern area of the neighborhood, with a somewhat larger lake just to the southwest. A large wooded area containing the Econlockhatchee River borders to the east. State Route 434 is to the west, and State Route 408 is to the south.
Schools serving the Stonemeade neighborhood include East Lake Elementary School, Carillon Elementary School, and Hagerty High School. Just to the west of Stonemeade is the main campus of the University of Central Florida (UCF).
The Grow and Sing Studios offers “Kindermusik” programs for infants, toddlers, and small children. Besides music, it also has programs in language skills, literacy, problem solving, and social skills. Grow and Sing was awarded the “Conductors Circle Maestro” in 2010-2011 and is in the top 1 percent in regards to the best Kindermusik programs in the world.
Located in the area are several popular and highly-regarded restaurants, including Wack A Doo’s Grub Brew, Lazy Moon, and Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches.
The Econlockhatchee River and surrounding area is a hugely popular recreational area. Here, visitors can explore a working ranch, camp out in a log cabin, relax on a beach, paddle down the river, observe the alligators and other wildlife, go horseback riding, or hike the trails that wind their ways throughout the area.
