On the southeast side of Winter Haven, Florida is the small residential neighborhood of Cypress Grove. Sandwiched between Lake Lulu and Lake Eloise, Cypress Grove is south of Avenue Z and encompasses a stretch along West Lake Eloise Drive. It is an established neighborhood with residences set back from the road and separated by wooded areas.
Cypress Grove is minutes from Cypress Gardens Boulevard, where there are multiple options for dining and shopping. These include national retailers, local shops, and grocers. The neighborhood is close to churches and schools and is only three miles south of downtown Winter Haven.
Ten minutes from Cypress Grove is the Chain O’ Lakes Complex, a hot spot for outdoor activities in Winter Haven. Located at the complex is the city’s Stadium and Baseball Park, which can seat 6,000. The baseball area includes a clubhouse, multiple fields, batting tunnels, and an exercise trail.
The “Rowdy” Gaines Olympic Pool is also at the Complex. The public pool is home to the Winter Haven Swim Team. At the north end of the Chain O’ Lakes Complex is the Convention Center. The Complex is off Cypress Gardens Boulevard on the north side of Lake Lulu.
Lake Shipp is to the west of the Chain O’ Lakes Complex. On Lake Shipp’s western edge is Sertoma Park. Located on Lake Shipp Drive, this city park has two football fields, four baseball fields, and a T-ball field. It is the city’s primary location for its youth sports league.
North of Lake Lulu on Cypress Gardens Boulevard and about three miles from Cypress Grove is the Theatre Winter Haven. A community theater with a five-play Main Stage season, the theatre company has more than 100 performances a year. In addition, they host a senior program that tours community centers and local retirement homes.
