Kingston Apartments for Rent

(hide neighborhood information)

Kingston neighborhood homes are quite varied. Many homes in this Daytona Beach community overlook the water and are quite grand, reflecting a Mediterranean style with tile roofs, balconies, and lush landscapes with giant live oaks. There are also small cottages with screened porches and sunrooms. The neighborhood falls between Mason Avenue and Arlington Avenue on either side of South Ridgewood Avenue.

Shopping and entertainment are conveniently located at the Ocean Walk Shoppes, right on the beach. A number of national restaurant chains can be found there as well. Just south of Kingston is Volusia Point Shopping Center, with several major department stores.

Other retail centers are located to the north at Ormond Beach. Fountain Square is one of the most popular for upscale shopping. Granada Plaza has both traditional and specialty shops. Lowe’s Home Improvement is on Granada Boulevard.

The Kingston neighborhood lies north of two of Daytona’s four-year colleges, Daytona State College and Bethune-Cookman University. Embry-Riddle, which specializes in aviation and aerospace, is located next to Daytona Beach International Airport. A public library is just southeast of Daytona State College.

Kingston residents who are outdoor enthusiasts enjoy many activities available at Mosquito Lagoon. Fishing is world-class there, though many come for the natural attractions such as the mangrove swamps and marine animals. Just south is the Canaveral National Seashore, which adds an element of archaeology to the marine experience. There are a number of parks and protected areas west of town as well.

Daytona has at least a half dozen golf courses, many of which are public. The Riviera Country Club, not far from the neighborhood, is a private facility that offers golf. The city also has year-round festivals, some of which feature world-renowned performers. Favorites include the Blues Festival in October and the free concerts overlooking the ocean, held at the historic bandshell.
