South Land Park Terrace is a neighborhood from the 1940s with sprawling ranch houses, duplexes, and apartment buildings. Landscaping in the neighborhood reflects the pride of home ownership. Trees, lawns, and shrubs are carefully designed and well-maintained.

Interstate 5 is located directly west of the neighborhood for easy access to work or play in downtown Sacramento. Sacramento Regional Transit is the local transportation system which has buses or light rail for residents, visitors, and commuters.

The Sacramento City Unified School District has schools in South Land Park Terrace. Sacramento City College is a community college located minutes away and is home of the Gregory Condos Gallery. The gallery is open to the public and is part of the Fischbacher Fine Arts Building on campus. Named after a famous Sacramento landscape painter and Sacramento City College art professor, the gallery opened in 2010 and features the art of students and alumni.

Vic’s Ice Cream is a small ice cream parlor which opened near South Land Park Terrace in 1947. The restaurant’s atmosphere has not changed since the Truman era but has kept its popularity with residents and visitors. Generations of customers fill the restaurant for a simple meal, but most orders are for a cone or container of ice cream. Vic’s is a favorite restaurant of local politicians living in the Land Park area.

Garcia Bend Park is popular for its boat ramp and courtesy dock overlooking the Sacramento River. The family-friendly park has a playground, tot lot, and picnic areas and also tennis courts and soccer fields. Three Lifetrail Stations are available for adult strength, flexibility, and balance exercises.
