Old North Sacramento Apartments for Rent
With its eclectic mix of vintage homes and proximity to the downtown, Old North Sacramento is a bustling neighborhood. Homes in the southwest section of this well-established community have views of the American River Parkway. Old North Sacramento formed as its own city in 1924, but after much heated debate, officially became a part of Sacramento in 1964.
Home designs in Old North Sacramento tend toward farmhouse-style houses built from the 1920s to the 1940s. There are also Cottage Bungalows from that same time period, as well as Craftsman and Tudor Revival. Old North Sacramento encompasses ZIP code 95815. The community is bounded by Arcade Boulevard on the north, Roseville Road on the east, Arden Way on the south, and Northgate Boulevard on the west. The Interstate Capitol City Freeway 51 sits to the east of the community. A majority of the neighborhood consists of single-family homes, although there is a variety of commercial buildings, including restaurants, shops, and service establishments.
Of the many appealing aspects of Old North Sacramento is the American River Parkway, which is a park that runs along the south and west outside of the neighborhood. This 23-mile long park follows the American River, and it is designated a State and National Wild and Scenic River. There are 82 miles of biking and hiking trails in the parkway and 125 acres of turf. Not too far away to the southeast is California State University, Sacramento. The scenic 300-acre campus has 3,000 trees and overlooks the American River.
