Housing prices are on the rise in Colonial Village North, Sacramento, California. According to Trulia Real Estate Search in its December 2010 report, “Compared to the same period one year ago, the median sales price increased 68.5 percent, or $60,760, and the number of sales increased 33.3 percent. Average price per square foot for Colonial Village North was $199, an increase of 134.1 percent compared to the same period last year.” Single-family homes vary in size and price. One- to three-bedroom homes sell for around $70,000 to $80,000, while larger homes with four to six bedrooms can cost between $200,000 and $400,000 or higher.

There are lots of things to see and do in and around Colonial Village North. Seventeenth Avenue Park is a nice place to go for a stroll, go for a picnic, or walk your dog. For those who prefer real dog parks, Granite Regional Park is only a few miles north. It is a large facility with intriguing features like a skating park, horseshoe pits, nature trails, and ponds.

Those with a taste for history will enjoy visiting Sutter’s Fort and Tower Theater, located on the west side of town. Sutter’s Fort revisits the 1800s, taking visitors back in time to the Gold Rush era. Tower Theater, on the other hand, offers a rare moviegoer’s experience to those who enjoy the ambiance and atmosphere of old-style theaters.

Colonial Village North is a quaint neighborhood with tall, sweeping trees, elegant homes, and a small-town feel. Streets are wide, homes are spacious and landscaping is mature. It is a quiet part of town, lending itself to casual neighborly conversation and a comfortable and relaxed environment, close enough to the big city but not so close as to be disturbed by its faster pace.
