Northside Apartments for Rent

Known as one of the oldest neighborhoods in the City of Riverside with over a century of existence, Northside is found on the northern gateway of Riverside County in California. It is bounded by the Santa Ana River on the west, the 60 Freeway on the south, the Interstate 215 on the east, and the Riverside City/San Bernardino Line on the north. Its main thoroughfares include the Pomono Freeway, Riverside Freeway, Orange Street, and Columbia Avenue.

Northside is primarily a residential area consisting of single-family homes on rural style lots, bungalow-style homes, suburban tract homes, condominiums, apartments, and gated planned communities. The neighborhood is known for its long-standing homeowners’ group, called the Northside Improvement Association, founded in 1912.

The more commercial areas within the neighborhood are diverse, consisting of modern residential, office, industrial, retail, and recreational facilities. There is a modern office park development along Market Street, which is near the vicinity’s southern end, just north of the 60 Freeway. Its north end is very near the County line and it has a variety of industrial uses for Riverside, including the concrete tilt-up industrial park development in the area. Northside’s La Cadena Avenue on its eastern portion is also home to a number of business establishments.

Northside locals have easy access to many parks and public facilities. The Reid Park and Pool features an extensive 42-acre community park with a community center, public pool, playground, volleyball, basketball, and tennis courts, baseball, softball, and soccer fields, and barbeque and covered picnic facilities. The Ab Brown Sports Complex is a 55-acre city-wide special use park, consisting of 16 soccer fields.

The University of California, Riverside is located on the northeastern part of the city. There are other nearby educational institutions easily accessible by Northside locals including the California Baptist University, California Southern Law School, La Sierra University, and Riverside City College.
