Casa Blanca Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Casa Blanca is a family-oriented, mostly residential neighborhood in the city of Riverside. Over 85 percent of Casa Blanca homes are detached houses, most of them built in the years following World War II or in the 1970s. The charming California Bungalow style is common.
The neighborhood is 1.271 square miles and has a population of approximately 5,250. It forms a rectangular shape, bordered on the northwest by the Riverside Freeway, on the northeast by Mary Street, on the southeast by Victoria Avenue, and on the southwest by Jefferson Street. The zip codes are 92504 and 92506.
The population density is a little higher than in the city of Riverside as a whole. Housing prices, household income, and median age are all lower than the Riverside average. In January 2011, the median sales price for a home in Casa Blanca was $145,437.
The Casa Blanca library, which features substantial Spanish-language and graphic-novel collections, was renovated recently. The library has a community meeting room and computers for adults and children.
Villegas Park is a hub for community activities. The park has a pool, sports fields, playgrounds, picnic areas and a Community Center that offers a variety of classes.
A Cinco de Mayo festival is held in the park every year, attracting thousands of people. Highlights of the two-day celebration include a parade, softball tournament, music, car show and food.
Most of Casa Blanca is part of a redevelopment area. The city of Riverside and the Casa Blanca community are working together to improve the neighborhood’s business and homes.
