Founded in 1839, the city of Pittsburg, California has a long history, beginning as a fishing and canning hub. Located in the San Francisco Bay area, this busy city still holds an annual Pittsburg Seafood Festival. In addition, the California Zinfandel Championship Competition is held during the festival.
Located 38 miles northeast of San Francisco, commuters can easily reach the downtown area through several local highways and a BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) station in nearby Bay Point.
In addition to the Seafood Festival, held annually for more than 25 years, Pittsburg has an annual Black Diamond Blues Festival, Holiday Nights in Old Town, Marina Barbeque, and a Farmer’s Market.
The revitalized Old Town is experiencing new development and growth, and the crime rate in Pittsburg has been consistently down for several years, making this city a great apartment-rental location for families as well as single residents.
