When a city racks up accolades such as “one of the best places to live,” “one of the best towns for families,” and “one of the best places to raise kids,” you know you’ve discovered someplace special. Toss in a gorgeous, mountainous landscape, ideal weather, fabulous outdoor recreation, and access to one of the most glamorous cities in the country, and Diamond Bar really sparkles.

Located 28 miles east of Los Angeles, Diamond Bar is situated in the San Gabriel Valley with the San Gabriel Mountains forming a stunning backdrop. Once you’ve chosen your Diamond Bar apartment to rent, you may find yourself being pulled outdoors to enjoy the hilly landscape and beautiful views. If so, Diamond Bar offers some wonderful parks. Pantera Park is a large park – over 15 acres, plus nearly 8 undeveloped acres – and includes tennis courts, basketball courts, ball fields, and picnic areas. Paul C. Grow Park features a fitness course, while Heritage Park offers a Community Center. The Diamond Bar Golf Course, located on 178 acres, is an 18-hole course with a pro shop, a restaurant, and a driving range.

Although the first house in Diamond Bar wasn’t built until the 1960s, the history dates back to 1840 and a 4,340-acre land grant to Jose de la Luz from Governor Juan Alvarado of Mexico. The ranch changed hands, was divided up and sold off. Diamond Bar Ranch was one of the largest cattle ranches in the West when it was acquired by Transamerica Corporation in the 1950s. They developed a master-planned community on the land, but kept the Diamond Bar name and the cattle brand logos.
