Washington Culver Neighborhood in Culver City, CA

Washington Culver Neighborhood

Washington Culver is a small business neighborhood in Culver City in western Los Angeles county. It is bordered to the north by Washington Boulevard and to the south by Culver Boulevard. Those streets are also its namesake. Elenda Street serves as the western border for Washington Culver, while Duquesne borders the community to the left.

The headquarters of Sony Pictures Entertainment is located on Washington Boulevard within the community and makes up the majority of it. The company has about 3,000 employees at that location. Their recent movies include Eat Pray Love and Burlesque.

The Kirk Douglas Theatre is a large theater that is located just northeast of Washington Culver. It’s owned by the Centre Theatre Group and has 317 seats. It hosts plays, concerts and special shows, including musicals.

Backstage Bar & Grill is a popular restaurant in the neighborhood. Samosa House East, Fassica Ethiopian Restaurant, Pampas Grill, Yokohama Sushi and Mayura Indian Restaurant are all within steps of Washington Culver. So is Westsubs, a cafe that serves a wide variety of sandwiches. California Pizza Kitchen is especially popular and within walking distance.

Veterans Memorial Park is just to the southwest of Washington Culver. It has a large playground and lots of shade trees, as well as open parkland. Coombs Park is only a half-mile south, while Tellefson Park is a little over a half-mile to the southwest of Washington Culver. Media Park is less than a mile to the neighborhood’s northeast, a small, picturesque park with lots of trees.
