Yuma is located in the southwestern corner of Arizona in the Fortuna Foothills. It is bordered by the west and south by Mexico, and to the north by California. Yuma is a small, sunny city – days are sunny 90 percent of the time, with only an average of just 3.36 inches of rain a year. But don’t let the desert landscape fool you – the Colorado River winds along the northern edge of the city, while the Yuma Canal meanders through it. So while you might think an apartment in Yuma means sand dunes and cacti, well, you’d be right – but there’s also river tubing, kayaking, waterskiing, jet-skiing, and paddle boarding.

The landscape is impressive, from the Imperial Sand Dunes to the Kofa and Cibola National Wildlife Refuges. The Yuma East Wetlands provides five miles of nature trails to explore and is home to hundreds of species of wildlife and birds. Yuma is home to ancient petroglyphs, so you’ll be able to visit such unique sites as Painted Rock and Antelope Hill after choosing your Yuma apartment to rent. In addition to outdoor adventures, you’ll find several shopping centers, restaurants, and other businesses in Yuma. Top Yuma employers include the Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, the Yuma Proving Ground, and Yuma Regional Medical Center.
