Promontory is a neighborhood in Tucson, Arizona. The neighborhood is part of the Catalina Foothills and located to the south of Sunrise Drive, west of Craycroft Road, and east of Swan Road. Most of the homes throughout the neighborhood are modern and well maintained.

Promontory is situated in one of the most scenic areas in all of Tucson. Placed in the Catalina Foothills, residents of the area have incredible views of mountains and quick access to some of the best recreation in the region. The foothills provide excellent hiking, biking, and camping opportunities to the area’s many adventurous visitors.

Campsites in the area provide sites for both recreation vehicles and primitive tent camping. Several different picnic areas are along the drive, as well as numerous scenic pull offs. Photographers, bird watchers, and adventure seekers alike take advantage of the countless trails that provide a different experience with every visit.

An abundance of golfing options are also spread throughout the region. Two of the largest and most popular area courses are both within three miles of Promontory: Skyline Country Club and Ventana Canyon Golf and Racquet Club. Both clubs offer solid fitness centers and swimming pools, but Ventana Canyon has one of the best tennis programs in the area. Ventana’s many courts are used for individual training sessions, league play, tournaments, and standard singles and doubles recreation play.

Tucson Mall is the best shopping and dining destination in the area, offering some of the biggest names in retail and dining. The mall is located about five miles to the southwest of Promontory.
