The Augustine Volcano is visible from Seldovia, as well. This active volcano, located in Cook Inlet, last erupted in 1986.
The King Crab fishing industry began in Seldovia and is still a lucrative occupation, but extremely dangerous. Deep-sea fishing is popular with some of the best halibut fishing in the world.
