Other local favorites include The Blessing of the Fleet in Bayou La Batre, with fishing boats decked out in fine fashion and plenty of great seafood and gumbo served up. Anglers may enjoy competing in the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo, trying to land the prize-winning shark or blue marlin.
Skyland Park is also convenient for everyday needs. At the intersection of Cottage Hill Road and Demetropolis Service Road are Walmart, other retail outlets, and several fast food and casual dining establishments. Another shopping area, Skyland Shopping Center, is in the southeast corner of the neighborhood.
