The 13,000 square foot mansion was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. Visitors can stroll the grounds when azaleas bloom under 100 year old oaks, or join the tours of the home. It’s a popular place for weddings or any special event.
Historic Bienville Square Park dates to 1824. Theodore Roosevelt spoke here about the Panama Canal, and shipyard workers met here about labor disputes during WWII. It is now the site of great concerts and festivals, including the Bayfest Music Festival.
