Jackson Heights Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Located in Mobile, Alabama, Jackson Heights was at one time one of Mobile’s westernmost communities. It was originally founded in 1946, making it one of Mobile’s older neighborhoods. Many of the single-family homes found in Jackson Heights are as old as the neighborhood – many built during the late 1940s through the 1950s.
Jackson Heights’ residents benefit from the tranquility offered by the neighborhood’s location. Most of the through traffic is from its residents, because the main street through Jackson Heights (Michael Boulevard) is a dead-end street. Jackson Heights is encompassed by County Road 56 to the north, Azalea Road to the east, and South University Boulevard to the west.
The Jackson Heights neighborhood contains the second-highest point in Mobile, which is located on Michael Boulevard. Residents can view Downtown and the Mobile River from this point. It is a close-knit community that prides itself on the neighborhood’s appearance. Majestic trees and gardens throughout the neighborhood add to Jackson Heights’ desirability.
