Killbough Springs can be found deep in one of the greenest parts of Birmingham, Alabama. The neighborhood lies just to the south of Killbough Springs Road and west of Center Point Parkway. West of the neighborhood is a large blanket of forest that provides refuge to a number of birds and wildlife. Trails into the forest provide opportunities for wildlife lovers to get close to nature and for hikers to get out and explore.

Grayson Park, which sits near the center of the community, is a great place for area youth to play basketball and baseball, or to go swimming in the lap pool. On the park’s south side is a small creek where area youngsters try to catch frogs, salamanders, and crayfish. The creek is also used by ducks and other water fowl. Smith Middle School borders the park, and has a running track that gets regular use by neighborhood residents.

Major attractions in the general area include East Town Plaza Shopping Center off of Center Point Parkway, Roebuck Municipal Golf Course on West Boulevard, and the Birmingham Shuttlesworth International Airport. All three are about a mile away from Killbough Springs. In addition to the airport, several major roadways, including Interstate 59 and Interstate 459, all provide residents with easy transportation throughout the region.
